Michael moved to Scotland in 1984 to concentrate on his own work :
'My work is largely landscape, inspired by the scenery and huge
skies and seas of Caithness and Sutherland throughout the changing seasons. By way of
contrast I balance the landscapes with series of still lifes. When not etching or drawing,
I work in watercolours, gouache and oils. My work is in private collections
throughout the world and finds a ready market in the British Isles'. My prices range
from £50 to £500 and I am happy to accept commissions'.
Michael`s Studio is located in the village of Strathy in the
Far North of Highland Scotland overlooking the sands and caves of Strathy Bay. The Orkney
Islands are on the horizon. Despite the wild peaty terrain, the area attracts tourists
from all over the world bent on `going along the top` in search of the primula scottica,
heather, archaeology and ancient monuments akin to Egypt's pyramids and much else besides
(hunting, shooting, fishing, ceilidhs, whisky, tartans, plaids and `knits ).
